Possible Activity Schedule for Professor Loretta Giorcelli OAM.

One of the most common uses of Giorcelli Educational Consultancy Services is the Educator in Residence option. This involves Dr Giorcelli working in schools or agencies for an extended period/s over one or several years.
The activities for each day (9-3.30pm or equivalent) are determined in consultation with the Educator/Consultant in Residence and reflect the school/agency's needs but can include any of the following:

1. Staff development activities for the host site on aspects of pedagogical importance to the school/setting eg behaviour co-management, collaborative schooling, practices, inclusive education, middle schooling, boys education, eliminating bullying behaviours etc.
2. Consultation re individual students with support teams or individual staff.
3. Consultation re groups of students with support teams or individual staff.
4. Consultation with individual students with identified needs (including deaf students using AUSLAN (Australian Sign Language) as a first language re their progress or other issue of importance to their access and participation.
5. Consultation to departments or faculties re legal compliance and curricular differentiation for students with specific learning needs.
6. Consultation with administration teams re the nature or review of existing or proposed learning or behavioural support services.
7. Conduct of “Making Successful Life Choices” a 2-hour futures-orientation program for Yr 11 and 12 students.
8. Briefings to executive or administration teams re critical legal, curricular or cultural issues (eg legal compliance of teachers/school) pertaining to the education of students with identified learning or emotional needs.
9. Meetings with parents re individual cases as part of the school/agency's case management.
10. Community education/parent meeting addressing topics of general interest to parents, teachers and others in the school community.
11. Facilitation of wraparound activities involving community-based professionals re individual cases (behaviour/ learning/ adjustment/ inclusion issues) or group issues (eg gang behaviour, clique behaviour, drug activities, eating disorders etc).
12. Conduct of “Secret Life of us” a 2-hour futures-orientation program especially designed for for Yr 9 and 10 students.
13. Conduct of “Girls:fun, friends and the future” a 2-hour futures-orientation program especially designed for teenage girls.
14. Media interviews associated with any of the above activities.
15. Other activities as required/designed by school and negotiated with Dr G.
